Qusay Skafi's Extraordinary Journey to Independence and Inspiration
Qusay's educational journey was far from ordinary; it was an affirmation of the extraordinary potential within every individual. It all began with a visual assessment at the Arab Rehabilitation Society in Beit Jala, a moment that would set the stage for an incredible transformation.
As the assessment results revealed, Qusay faced a challenging start. He had missed kindergarten, a delay that would undoubtedly make his path to self-reliance more difficult. Nevertheless, his parents' commitment to providing their son with the best opportunities was speechless. With their hearts set on his success, they enrolled Qusay in Al-Shorouk School.
From the very beginning, Qusay showed a bright personality that won over everyone he encountered. Yet, he carried some unhealthy behaviors stemming from his early environment. His dependence on his family for daily tasks posed a significant obstacle. Qusay's mother, in particular, sought guidance on how best to assist her child on his journey to independence. It was a shared dream, a goal that would demand a spirit of collaboration.
With the careful guidance of his dedicated teachers and therapists, and the support of his family, Qusay's world began to transform. Slowly but surely, he progressed from a student who struggled even with the most basic alphabets to someone who could read and write with increasing confidence. His communication skills improved significantly, allowing him to connect with his peers and express his thoughts and ideas.
Qusay engaged in both individual and group psychological and social sessions alongside his fellow students, sharing a special one-on-one connection with his friend Ward. His progress was gradual, but it was marked by determination. He began to accept and follow instructions with the need for repetition and the generalization of concepts. When he struggled to understand complex content, his educators met the challenge with patience and creativity, simplifying topics to help him grasp the material.
With the support of his loving family and the environment of Al-Shorouk School, Qusay Nidal Skafi began to rewrite his life story. He demonstrated that obstacles could be conquered with determination, patience, and the right support system. Qusay was on a path to independence where he could shine and make a difference for his family and the world.
This was more than just a success story; it was inspiring evidence of the extraordinary power of resilience and reminded all that with the right support and determination, we can all rise above our challenges and reach for the stars.

Transforming Challenges
Ward Osama Al-Azza's Inspiring Journey to Self-Discovery and Growth
Ward Osama Al-Azza, at just 8 and a half years old, had a life filled with challenges. His family consisted of his father and a younger sister, and they struggled with economic challenges. To add to the difficulties, Ward's parents were divorced, and his mother lived far away in Jordan.
The separation of his parents and the sudden loss of contact with his mother, who had been his primary source of love and protection, left Ward grappling with behavioral issues. He found it hard to interact with others in group settings, often seeing their actions as threats to his well-being. He became convinced that others intended to harm him and reacted with physical violence to what he perceived as provocation.
In 2018, Ward's life took a significant turn when he was enrolled in Al-Shurooq School. This decision was based on a visual evaluation conducted at the Visual Rehabilitation Department of the Arab Rehabilitation Society in Beit Jala. Ward had a partial visual disability, but his challenges extended beyond that. A developmental diagnosis revealed that he suffered from learning difficulties and needed rehabilitation for life skills. As a result, he was allowed to join the school and live in its boarding house for five days a week.
The dedicated school staff worked tirelessly with Ward, helping him develop self-awareness and a sense of personal identity. Through art and comparative images, they aimed to connect him with the real world, shifting his beliefs and imagination. They also encouraged him to create visual representations of his family and close relatives, strengthening the value of these relationships in his life.
Gradually, Ward began to change his behavior and negative thinking towards people and situations; even though there were, times when he slipped back into his previous mindset. Despite these challenges, during his time at Al-Shurooq School, Ward made significant progress. He not only grew emotionally but also developed the ability to handle individual responsibilities and duties, marking a qualitative improvement in his life.
Ward's journey serves as evidence of the transformative power of dedicated care and education. Despite the obstacles he faced, he was gradually finding his way towards a brighter and more promising future, thanks to the support of the school and his deep connection with his family.
