Both the specialist and researcher Sanabel Hassan and the teacher and researcher Esraa Abu Ayash participated in presenting their research papers as part of the specialized discussion sessions and proceedings of the First National Rehabilitation Conference in Palestine (2025–2026). The conference was organized by Dura Al-Amal Charitable Association under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, in partnership with several national institutions and Palestinian universities. It witnessed broad participation from experts, researchers, doctors, and specialists in the fields of community rehabilitation, along with representatives of ministries, official bodies, civil society organizations, and heads of professional unions.

Representatives of the Association for the Visually Impaired also attended the conference, including Mr. Abdullah Shakarneh, the association’s vice president and a member of the conference’s preparatory committees, as well as Ms. Mirna Flayfel, the principal of Al-Shorouq School.

Researcher Sanabel Hassan presented her paper titled:

“Enhancing the Social Inclusion of Persons with Visual Disabilities: Reality, Challenges, and Strategies.”

Her study aimed to shed light on the reality of persons with visual impairments within mainstream educational environments and to analyze the effectiveness of national policies in supporting their educational and social inclusion. She called for the integration of disability issues into national development plans and proposed practical, actionable recommendations for high-level official bodies to ensure that inclusion becomes an integral part of sustainable community development at the national level.

Teacher and researcher Esraa Abu Ayash presented her paper titled:

“The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.”

Her research explored the contributions of technology and artificial intelligence to advancing digital rehabilitation for persons with disabilities, and its role in improving their quality of life and promoting their community participation. She highlighted how AI enables precise data analysis, the design of personalized therapeutic programs, and progress tracking through sensors and machine learning algorithms, in addition to creating interactive virtual environments that enhance motivation and effectiveness.

The conference aimed to unify national efforts and build an integrated national rehabilitation system grounded in scientific research and effective partnerships between universities and community institutions. Its goal is to advance the rehabilitation sector and strengthen collaboration among academic, health, and community institutions, thereby empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring their effective inclusion through the development of comprehensive policies, services, and rehabilitation programs.

Additionally, students from Al-Shorouq School, including both current and integrated students, participated in a special musical performance during the conference’s opening ceremony, adding a lively and creative atmosphere to the event.
