Al-Shorouq hosted a delegation of specialists from Dura Al-Amal Center

In the framework of strengthening cooperation and exchanging professional expertise, recent days witnessed mutual visits between the  Al-Shorouq School for the Blind and the Dura Al-Amal Rehabilitation Center, with the goal of developing the skills of rehabilitation specialists in both institutions and enhancing the quality of services provided to individuals with visual impairments.

During the first visit, Al-Shorouq hosted a delegation of specialists from Dura Al-Amal Center. School Director Mirna Fleyfel accompanied them on a tour to introduce the association, the school, and the services they provide. The visit included a training session delivered by specialist Sanabel Hassan, who discussed professional interconnection and integration among supportive rehabilitation disciplines in direct interventions with persons with visual impairments. She also addressed the importance of demographic studies, institutional referral mechanisms, the roles of caregivers, and the use of assessment tools in early stages.

Occupational therapist Dana Ramadan presented the role of occupational therapy at the school, explaining how students are accompanied from enrollment until graduation and integration, and how therapeutic goals and programs are applied in a way that develops their abilities and promotes inclusion. Kindergarten teacher Amira Hamamra also gave an overview of the educational role in working with blind students and the supportive educational tools used with them.

During the second visit, the Dura Al-Amal Rehabilitation Center hosted the Al-Shorouq delegation. They toured the center’s various departments with Center Director Marcel Sweiti, followed by a specialized training session delivered by Dr. Abdullah Al-Titi, focusing on the importance of sensory rooms and sensory integration as a central tool in the comprehensive rehabilitation process.
